The next Amici Vocal Competition will be held in 2009

There is no competition in 2008.

Andrews Memorial Theater, Clinton, Connecticut

 Students 

- presently residing in Connecticut or attending a Connecticut school

- matriculating music students in bachelor or  master program or pursuing private study

- ages 18+

- session from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm approx.       

                Prizes:

- a first place prize of  $250

- monetary prizes for 2nd and 3rd places

Young Professionals 

- must be Connecticut residents or have resided in the state within the last three years

- may be studying for doctorate in music

- ages 25 - 40 inclusive

- session from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm approx.                

                Prizes:

- a first place prize of  $500

- monetary prizes for 2nd and 3rd places

-$100 Galli-Campi Award for the most promising female coloratura may be awarded at the jury's discretion.

Entrants are considered for performance opportunities with Opera Theater of Connecticut.

 All entrants will be heard by a jury of leading professionals in the music field.  Competitors will be allotted ten minutes to perform two selections of their choice from memory. 

                                                Applicants should send:

                       - a completed Amici Vocal Competition application form which must include the two arias to be

     performed in the competition (title, composer, work) if selected   

 - a resume with an 8 X 10 photo

                        - a letter of recommendation from a vocal teacher

- a cassette tape or CD with two contrasting arias (up to a total of ten minutes)    

 - non-refundable registration fee of $15 for Students or $25 for Young Professionals

                                                                           **Participation may be limited**
